Masking Is Not Femininity I have just published a new book: The Autistic Woman’s Guide to Self-Rediscovery Beauty, Softness, Sensuality and Feminine Self-Recovery for Intelligent, Masking and Neurodivergent Women It is not a book about becoming a different woman. That mattered to me from the beginning. I had no interest in writing a book that told autistic, masking, intelligent or neurodivergent women to become softer so that other people could handle them more easily. I did not want to write a book about becoming prettier so that the world might finally approve. I did not want to write a book about performing femininity correctly, as if womanhood were an exam some of us had failed. I wanted to write about return.
